Meant to post this a while ago – I’ve had a second poem from The Summer King picked up by Cambridge University Press for use in their Songs of Ourselves anthology for study – this time the poem is Gloves, and the anthology is Songs of Ourselves vol. 3.
I haven’t seen a copy of the anthology yet – on the way – but I noticed a sudden uptick in visits to the site around the time when people would have been going back to school, so I suspect that may have something to do with it!
Anyway, I’ve posted a wee guide to this poem too, just as I did with The Pride of Lions – you can access it here – along with the reading notes from Michael Laskey from when it first appeared in Smith’s Knoll #37.
Enjoy!
