Hooray, enough people want to attend my Editing Masterclass!
There are still a couple of places left, if you’ve been umming and ahhing. Those who are interested in the course but don’t have a poem they want worked on, that’s fine too – the course is about the process more than the product. Last possible moment for applications is 6 pm Thursday 24th, unless we hit the magic twelve people before then. So don’t muck about!
I’m hopeful that Reading for Writing will have a new home very soon, so keep watching for details. (Crossing fingers is also a good move.) (And yes, I like to keep people in suspenders. Doesn’t everyone? And yours are particularly fetching.)
And as a last vaguely-related comment – ex R4W students (acolytes? addicts?) Sean Joyce and Marisa Cappetta have been accepted in to the Hagley Writers’ Institute course for 2011. Yay guys! I’m not even slightly surprised, although I do wonder if Hagley have any idea what they’ve let themselves in for … 😉
Jokes aside, good luck to both of you, and may it be everything you hope for. You’ll make us proud, I know it.
Hi, Joanna. Would love to have been at your Editing Masterclass – next time! And I just wanted to share the news that I’ve hit DOUBLE FIGURES at the School Journal, with the acceptance of my tenth poem. It will appear along with two previous works in a set of three rugby poems coming out in September issues of the School Journal coinciding with the World Cup. Best regards to you, Marisa and all the Cantab poets. Go lyrically! Greg =)
Hi Greg! How’s married life treating you?
Congrats on the double digits. Sounds like your timing couldn’t be better.
With a bit of luck, maybe this year I might actually be able to make the trip across that we talked about?
Married life is treating me like a rock star – without the free drugs! We’d love to see you on the Wild Coast. Come stay at Freyberg Tce, meet the delightful Zoe and inspire the local WORD OF MOUTH crew! Keep in touch and let me know when a trans-alpine visit might suit. G =)
