A final workshop flourish for 2012

Blimey, it never stops at this time of year, does it? Having just survived the weekend Poem Unleashed workshop (lost of fun, but exhausting!) it is now time to pimp my final class for the year – a straight writing exercise workshop:

Jump-staring the Muse
Saturdays, November 10th, 17th, 24th, and December 1st and 8th, 2012
(five weeks)
10.30 am – 1.30 pm
Meeting Room
Upper Riccarton Library
71 Main South Road, Sockburn
Fee: $45

Minimum of 12, maximum of 24 places.
Closing date for enrolments: 9th November, 2012.

Plenty of on-site parking, and a bus stop just outside (routes 81, 83, 88 and the Metrostar).

Beach view... (159540322)As you can see from the logo, CCC CC have once again provided funding to help me keep costs as affordable as possible. This time we’re not doing close reading, or looking at the minutiae of editing, or practicing being vampires in order to breathe properly (David, I may never forget that particular exercise!). Just lots and lots of writing prompts, and a lovely three hours on a Saturday morning to let the outside world go hang while you keep an appointment with your muse.

The usual stuff applies – if you sign up but have to miss the odd class, I will email you the material you miss. I may make a few places available as one-offs at $15 a slot, but only if the numbers permit. (And you’ll be taking a risk on the class being full.) I know I’m not giving much notice, but I only just found out about the funding myself. (Yep, one of the three weeks-worth of writing funding applications that so turned my brain to cheese back in …  September? August? Crivens. Where has the year gone?)

This link will take you to a downloadable flier. So what are you waiting for?
