Dear Poetry-lovers,
James Norcliffe, Joanna Preston and the good people of Clerestory Press would like to invite you to A Very Important Party:
When: 7 pm to 8.30 pm, Monday 29th February 2016
Where: The Laboratory, 17 West Belt, Lincoln (next door to the Library)
Why: to celebrate the official launch of Leaving the Red Zone – poems from the Canterbury Earthquakes!
Yes, it’s finally time to make it official and launch the book. So we would like to invite you to join us in lovely Lincoln to celebrate.
For those of you who don’t know it, The Laboratory is a great brewpub, lovingly built out of material salvaged from earthquake-demolished buildings all over Canterbury – the bar counter from the old Hororata Hotel, the staircase from the old boarding house at Rangi Ruru, even bricks from the old Addington saleyards. It really is the epitome of life after the earthquakes. And it’s also where the anthology was assembled, over many cups of coffee, and many more pints of beer …
There’s great parking onsite, or the #80 bus will deliver you to the door (well, across the road from the door) after a leisurely 50 minute scenic drive.
Lisa and Martin are opening the pub especially for the launch, so it would be great to see as many of you there as possible. Food and beverages will be available to buy from 6.00 pm, and if you want full menu service you can book a table by phoning the Lab direct on 325 3006.
There will be readings, and dignitaries, and short speeches, and a chance to purchase copies of the book at a launch-party discount of $30 (usually $39.95). A chance to let your hair down. It should be a lot of fun, and we really hope you’ll be there to share the occasion.
Go on. Say you’ll be there. It wouldn’t be the same without you.
Exhaustedly,
Joanna and James xxx

No, I’m not coming – I just used the wrong box.
I guessed as much, and have deleted the contact form so no-one else gets confused …
🙂
What I was trying to say….
Fantastic! Congratulations and best wishes for the launch.
